The excitation of the sample is through a high photonoutput monochromator utilizing a special high intensity ultraviolet/visible light source. The optical path is optimized for veryhigh sensitivity detection of weakly fluorescing liquids in flowing solutions. This technology has applicability to thechromatographic separation problems for which it is specifically designed.
